How Jaromir sought happiness is a poetic show inspired by Peter Svetina’s homonymous story. The stargazer Jaromir keeps looking at the stars from his attic room, seeking happiness. He looks for it among the stars, among complex mathematics, among stargazing discussion, expecting it to come unexpectedly, like a comet. Each day, he is visited by misses Jarmila, who helps him with housework. On a cloudy day, when no stars appear in the sky, Jarmila turns his telescope elsewhere, to a magical walk through stories of small, secret moments. He is suddenly shaken, as if hit by a comet: was happiness within his reach all this time? The performance is without text, therefore appropriate for international audiences.

Reviews

"This story of conquering the human heart is enacted sensitively by refined performers Brane Vižintin and Ajda Rooss in both their virtuoso bringing to life the desktop and shadow puppets, common objects and toys, as well as in the live interaction between the partners. [...] An unusual and yet so common eternal love story.” (Slavko Pezdir, Delo, 15. March 2011)

“[...] a magical experience for audiences of all ages.”
(Uroš Smasek, Večer, 16. March 2011)

“The performance says all than needs to be said without any words, [...] intended for children it nevertheless enchants adults with its poetics.”
(Špela Standeker, Dnevnik, 19. March 2011)
