About the Workshop

How do arts organizations "perform" themselves on social media today? What happens when our curatorial voice is shaped by algorithms deciding what is visible and to whom?
Performing the System combines hands-on strategy with critical reflection on digital culture. The workshop is designed for organizations seeking to move beyond purely promotional approaches and to understand online platforms as extensions of their artistic, institutional, and community practices.

Through a combination of a lecture, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will explore:

  • How social media shape visibility, engagement, and cultural value
  • How to create a digital narrative and voice that reflects an organization’s mission
  • How to keep up with the evolving digital landscape without being consumed by it
  • How to promote accessibility and ethical practices in digital communication

What You Will Gain

  • A clearer understanding of what your organization is really communicating online
  • Tools for building a content and visual strategy that connects audiences with your values
  • Greater media literacy and confidence in deciding what, where, when, and how to post
  • A concrete 4-week action plan tailored to your goals

Who It’s For

For communication managers, producers, artistic directors, social media coordinators, and anyone managing digital presence in cultural and artistic organizations.

The six-hour workshop is part of the TRIGGER Educational Programme 2025 and will be conducted in English.
