About the performance
I sing the songs of those who are no more. And I sing and sing, and I no longer know when I stop, because now they sing within me. Songs of blossoms. Songs of kindness. Songs of gentleness. And I am full. I am full of these songs. Songs that are no more, yet still sing within me.
I am also thirsty. I’d like some water. I need water. I am so very thirsty and so full that I’d like water. More water. I’d like more water. Pour it over me or just throw me into a river, so it cleanses me of these songs and thoughts and of myself.
Wash me. Wash me and arrange me. And change me. And make me.
I would like to be clean. Clean like a drop that sparkles in the embrace of the sun. I like the sun. I’d like some sun too. More sun.
Sometimes, as a symbol of the passage from virginity to married life, women would cut off a lock of hair. An innocent lock of hair represented a woman’s surrender to marriage. The surrender of her freedom, her body, and her life.
We will not cut our hair.
We will serve you bread and wine and a glimpse of our view of witches. No, wait. Women. Yes, of women.
This will not be a sexist performance. We do not judge men. We judge men and women.

More about the “Generation to Generation” Programme
Generation to Generation (G2G) is a youth-for-youth theatre programme based on devised practices and functioning as a permanent support program of Glej Theatre. What began as a pilot project has grown into a space where young people create independently with the support of mentors, who do not take on the role of directors but simply guide and encourage the process. It is an environment for creation, for understanding theatre, and for shaping active and curious audiences. The performances emerge from materials that the young participants collect and develop into original works, valued both among young people and within the professional community. More.
